ACM, LLC sells single crystal magnesium oxide wafers made by Tateho Chemical Industries (TCI). Unlike many other manufacturers, TCI melts its own single crystals, maintaining total control throughout the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished wafers.
TCI begins with high purity raw materials and melts them in electric arc furnaces to yield magnesium oxide ingot having 99.9% purity. The ingot is separated into blocks, which are cut to the appropriate size and precise orientation using x-ray diffraction. The blocks are ultimately cut into wafers, which are are ground, polished and epi-polished.
After final inspection, wafers are packaged in custom cassettes for shipment to the customer. Maintaining total control of the entire process enables TCI to offer the highest quality wafers for your substrate applications.
