Silar® Microwave Absorbent Ceramics represent a breakthrough in ceramic technology by having the ability to absorb microwave radiation. These materials have thermal properties unlike conventional ceramic materials.

- Instant heating: Silar® provides instant heat from ambient to service temperature
- Rapid heating: 1200°C per minute is easily attainable
- Controlled heating: Silar® absorbs consistently and evenly across all temperature ranges with a constant dielectric loss tangent as temperature increases
- Chemically inert and stable: Silar® is exceptionally stable - it won't react with anything
- No arcing or sparking: Silar® will not arc or spark while absorbing microwave radiation
- Functional at all frequencies: Silar® will heat equally well at 915 MHz and 2450 MHz.
